Words of Gratitude
As Melange embarks on our 9th anniversary celebration, we want to take a moment to express our love and adoration for our dear friends and customers. Melange has been in its happy home at the Fifth Street Market for 9 years, but as many of you know, we've been having fun in the fashion world for much longer than that (nearly 17 years now)! We can remember the days of large clip on earrings and shoulder pads like it was yesterday.
Our website is the newbie, but already she has been up and running for 7 years! I was kid free when I started the website, and three kids later, she has evolved and changed into something we are all so proud of. Such a collabrative effort in every respect.
Through all these years, one thing has been consistent...our wonderful customers who have become our friends and shop with us again and again. Everytime you do, you support our lovely small family of happy gals that truly feel such appreciation for being able to share their job, with their love for clothing.
For each of you who have put aside your frustration at the fact we run out of sizes frequently....for each of you who've come to us first when looking for a special item instead of going to the department stores....for each of you who have understood how much we care about what we do...we thank you from the bottom of our heart!
And I would be o'so remiss if I didn't acknowledge our wonderful group of Melange women. Do you know them all? Well...let me introduce you!
Martha: The fashionista who has been here from before the beginning. She is a grandmother of five, and a silver haired fox with a wicked cool sense for layering. We all love Martha-- she IS Melange!
Blair: Our gorgeous, too-skinny-to-be-fair, fashion guru, who has the sunniest personality and a perfect eye. She is always doing something fun in the store, and everyone loves her the moment they meet her!
Cara: The web wouldn't be the same without her imagination and creative vision. Multi-talented (don't our emails look awesome?), we are quite sure she could do anything she set her mind. She is now a working mom juggling her darling Lila on her hip as well as all her different jobs at Melange!
Jessica: Jess has been the fashion consultant to many-o-web customers. She has the sweetest personality, gives spot on advice, and now is growing bigger by the minute since she is pregnant with twins. We treasure all the minutes we have left with her, before she has one baby on each hip!
Amanda: Our resident designer in training, Amanda is the most hardworking little darling there ever could be. She photographs like a dream, so you've seen in her in many of the outfit pictures, and she is studying to become the next great fashion designer...and we know she will!
Valerie: Our newest edition to the Melange team, we adore Val already! Well, except for the fact she is tall with dancer's legs...that kind of bugs those of us who don't exercise and are short!! She has a wonderful smile, and her positive energy has already contributed so much to our happy group! You all will get to know her well soon!
Maggie: Our student, and long time Melange cutie. We don't get her in the store nearly as often as we like, but when we do, everyone couldn't be happier. She has a great fashion sense, and is our Hard Tail yoga pant model (did you see how great her legs are??)
We are so lucky to have such a great group of women to work with, and so lucky to interact with all of you wonderful women! If I sound like I'm gushing, well, I am.
